Cynata Therapeutics (ASX:CYP) has received favourable advice from the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency for its Cymerus™ mesenchymal stem cell product to be used in clinical trials in patients with graft versus host disease.
The MHRA advised that Cynata’s existing program of preclinical studies is sufficient to support the approval of the proposed clinical trial and that no additional preclinical studies are required.
The proposed Phase 1 clinical trial which will be undertaken at centres in the European Union, including the United Kingdom, and Australia, is due to commence in Q2 2016.
