Republic Gold (ASX:RAU) has commenced operating at the Amayapampa Gold Project in Bolivia under the Project’s Environmental Licence that was granted in 2007.
Operations commenced following a recent exchange of letters between the company and the Director General of Environment and Climate Change in the Vice Ministry of Environment, Biodiversity and Climate Change, the main mining environmental authority in Bolivia.
John Kelly, managing director, said that “the formal commencement of pre-construction works under the licence represents an important step forward in the progression of the Project.”
Republic Gold’s immediate term focus is to complete the infill trenching program that is already revealing higher grade than estimated in initial resource block modelling, as well as advancing the training programme for the workforce and other pre-construction works.
The company said it will also fast-track the consultants’ programmes now underway with the two engineering contracting firms involved in completing the metallurgical component of the Bankable Feasibility Study, including tailings dam and water supply studies as well as treatment plant design and costings.
