Corazon Mining (ASX: CZN) has kicked off a first pass drilling program at the company's Top Up Rise Project in Western Australia, which is prospective for Olympic Dam / Prominent Hill style IOCG mineralisation.
The aircore drilling program will assist in identifying priority ranking of targets for deeper reverse circulation and diamond core drilling, and will test six priority-one drill targets and five priority-two targets.
The first assays are expected in around one-month.
Corazon has an option to earn 75%, with the project an IOCG or intrusive copper-gold target, with the nearest outcrops anomalous in IOCG metals.
The closest outcrops are around 20 kilometres away, and are anomalous in IOCG pathfinder minerals including rare-earths, haematite, magnetite, copper, gold and uranium.
These are adjacent to a large Proterozoic age intrusive alteration system with geochemical characteristics common to known world-class copper-gold deposits.
Corazon had $2.7 million in cash at the end of March 2013.
