Cannindah Resources identifies copper, gold zones in Queensland

Cannindah Resources (ASX:CAE) has identified separate copper and gold zones within its Mt Cannindah Project in Queensland.

The copper target zone is 300 metres long and 50 metres with an interpreted depth of 50 metres.

This was confirmed by recent rock chips samples of 4% and 2% copper along with a historical drill intercept by Newcrest (ASX:NCM) in 1996 of 3 metres at 1.32% copper from 43 metres confirmed the copper zone.

The gold structure at Lifesaver is contained within quartz veins with grades up to 9.5 grams per tonne gold in rock chips, and is similar to the interpreted gold structure at the Barrimoon prospect area within theproject.

Further drilling is required to confirm grades.

Mineralisation at Lifesaver has historically been targeted with vertical drill holes that may have missed the steeply dipping gold-bearing structures.

Cannindah is currently working through an exploration target estimate across known prospects within the project.

This will form the basis upon which potential high grade areas are prioritised for exploration drilling or further ground based exploration activity.
