Zamia Gold Mines (ASX: ZGM) has reported that it is planning a follow up drilling program at the Anthony Molybdenum Project in central Queensland with the objective of expanding the 81 million tonne sulphide molybdenum resource announced last month.
Based on previous drilling results, resource consultants Hellman & Schofield Pty Ltd have recommended a 2,000m priority drilling program to expand the high grade zone.
Zamia plans to undertake the H&S proposed drilling plus an additional 2,000m of drilling, as part of a larger program of 36 holes, totalling 9,000m, to expand the resource laterally and at depth.
On 6 April 2010, Zamia announced an initial Inferred Resource of 81 Mt at 0.043% (430 parts per million, ppm) Mo in the primary (sulphide) zone at the Anthony project.
The resource includes a high grade sulphide zone of 13.5 Mt at 0.075% (750 ppm) Mo as well as an additional 13 Mt of oxide and transition material (mixed oxide/sulphide) from surface at 0.05% (500 ppm) Mo.
Zamia Managing Director Ken Maiden said "from our earlier results plus a large +100 ppm Mo soil anomaly over the discovery, we are confident that Anthony will prove to be a significant molybdenum resource.”
Drilling is expected to begin during May with a view to having a revised (expanded) resource estimate prepared in August. Holes will be spaced approximately 100m apart and drilled to 250m depth.
