Montezuma Mining commences drilling at Peak Hill Gold Project

Montezuma Mining (AXS: MZM) has reported that an RC drilling rig has commenced work at the Peak Hill Gold Project in the Murchison region of Western Australia.

The initial phase of work at Peak Hill will comprise approximately 5,000 metres.

The drilling will test extensions to known mineralised areas, follow up the recent success at the Windsor Zone within the Durack Project area as well as testing a number of new targets.

Following the completion of the programme at Peak Hill, Montezuma said the rig will be moved north to the company’s 100% owned Butcher Bird Project where it will complete a first pass programme of approximately 4,000m.

An estimated 9,000m will be completed over the next 2-3 months with follow up work planned on an ongoing basis.

This represents the start of an aggressive 6-9 month programme of work designed to significantly advance the company’s projects.

Justin Brown, Managing Director, said the work will test the potential for high grade manganese and copper mineralisation, following up the highly encouraging results received from surface sampling to date.
