Bioxyne (ASX: BXN) will today receive data from the Phase IIb trial of its chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) therapy, which the company will release to the market following an extensive review of both primary and secondary results.
The company has been granted a trading halt by the ASX this morning to give it time to review the results.
Data from the 320 patient study into the efficacy and safety of HI-164OV therapy is in the late stages analysis.
The study aimed to assess the impact of treatment with HI-164OV in reducing severe exacerbations in COPD and reducing the need for admission to hospital.
Primarily the company hopes that data from the study will demonstrate a reduction in exacerbations requiring oral corticosteroid treatment or hospitalisation.
The halt will last until the earlier of an announcement being made available to the market, or the opening of trade on Friday 15 June.
