Attila Resources drills 13,500m core at Kodiak coking coal project, to fast track BFS

Attila Resources (ASX:AYA) has completed 13,500 metres of core drilling at its Kodiak coking coal project in Alabama that could potentially led to a revised resource estimate.

The Phase 1 drilling over 23 holes ranging in depth between 168 and 798 etres, was completed at its 81 million tonnes JORC compliant inferred resource at its Gurnee property, which is 70% owned by Attila.

The program, which was initiated on July 17, 2012, was designed to acquire coal bed thickness and coal quality data across the approximate 7,770 acre Gurnee Property sufficient to allow tonnage to be raised from a JORC Compliant Inferred Resource to the categories of Measured and Indicated on the Coke and Atkins coal beds.

An assessment of data to revise inferred resource to measured and indicated categories is likely to be completed in 4 to 6 weeks.

The hard coking coal is of low ash and sulphur quality and testing of the rock mechanics and gas desorption is underway to fast track the bankable feasibility study.
