Ark Mines intercepts 27 metres at 0.2% copper near surface at Nangerybone

Ark Mines (ASX: AHK) has received encouraging results from drilling at the Wirrilah Project, part of the Nangerybone Project in New South Wales.

The program of shallow reverse circulation drill holes was designed to test for the presence of copper near old workings at Wirrilah.

Ark planned to determine whether rock chip samples from previous explorers and the discovery of copper oxide chips at surface indicated the presence of copper mineralisation with drilling.

Results from the three drill holes have been encouraging, and include an intercept of 27 metres at 0.2% copper from 9 metres.

The company believes there is scope for more significant results with deeper drilling, and plans to begin a more extensive drilling program later in 2012.
