Alligator Energy (ASX: AGE) has kicked off its 2013 field season at the Tin Camp Creek Uranium Project in the Northern Territory.
An initial 2000 metres of reverse circulation and diamond drilling will test extensions to the existing Caramal Resource of 944,000 tonnes at 3100ppm U3O8.
Highlighting the potential of the project which is located in the Alligator Rivers Uranium Province, drilling from the 2012 campaign delivered; 15 metres at 4371ppm U3O8 from 75 metres, and importantly, indicated the potential for structurally offset extensions to the north of the Caramal resource.
Access roads to the Tin Camp Creek area have been re-opened and drill sites for the upcoming 2013 Caramal Resource extension drilling program have been surveyed.
Alligator has been very active at the project, and has drilled over 15,000 metres to date. The company had $2.6 million in cash at the end of March 2013.
Access to High Grade Gorrunghar Prospect approved
Alligator's access to high grade Gorrunghar Prospect has been approved, with an initial ground assessment, radiometric surveys and surface sampling of the Orion North radiometric anomalies at the prospect will be undertaken over the coming weeks.
Following annual work program meetings with Traditional Owners, facilitated by the Northern Land Council, clearance has been granted to undertake these programs - including drilling.
Gorrunghar is located in the north western part of the Tin Camp Creek Project area. It was initially discovered in 1972 at the time of the major Ranger and Nabarlek uranium discoveries.
The following high grade intersections were reported: 15.8 metres at 1215ppmU3O8 from 25 metres; and 14.5 metres at 2644ppmU3O8 from 1.3 metres.
