Alara Resources Ltd to lift confidence of Al Hadeetha copper-gold resource

Drilling discovered additional high grade copper and gold mineralisation which sits on top of the existing JORC resource. These results are now being incorporated into the resource model which is expected next month.

Alara Resources Ltd (ASX:AUQ) has finalised its latest drilling prgram at the Al Hadeetha copper-gold project in Oman, with the objective of increasing the confidence of the resource into the Indicated category from Inferred.

During drilling, Alara discovered additional high grade copper and gold mineralisation which sits on top of the existing JORC resource.

These results are now being incorporated into the resource model which is expected next month.

Infill drilling at the Washihi Exploration License delivered broad intersections such as: 61 metres at 0.48% copper, 0.18g/t gold; and 88 metres at 0.72% copper.

These were supported by high grade intersections including: 7 metres at 2.93% copper, 2.71g/t gold, 22.37 g/t silver; and 11 metres at 4.69g/t gold, 0.31% copper, 17.85g/t silver.

The reverse circulation drilling covered circa 850 metres.

Washihi

The current Washihi resource contains 14.1 million tonnes at 0.80% copper and 0.18 g/t gold, and once the final assays have been received, they will be added to the resource model.

Alara holds a 70% stake in the Al Hadeetha Copper-Gold Project through a joint venture with Al Hadeetha Investment Services.

Alara's partner, Al Hadeetha Investment Services, are associated with the well-known Al Naba group, owned by Sayyid Khalid Al Busaidi and his family.

The Washihi mineral resources now complies with the JORC Code 2012.

Analysis

A key advantage to the Al Hadeetha Copper-Gold project is the support from Alara's joint venture partners in Oman, and the local community which are keen to see the project advanced.

There is also potential for a regional consolidation strategy of other known copper deposits in Oman, providing Alara with the opportunity for economies of scale.
