Alara is on track to deliver a PFS from the Khnaiguiyah Zinc Copper Project (50%) in Saudi Arabia by July 2012, with the country offering significant investment and operational benefits.
Khnaiguiyah plans a 70,000tpa zinc production targeted to commence into forecast strongly rising zinc prices (+ US$2,500 per tonne).
In Oman (+50 – 75%), Alara has completed 5000 metres of drilling, while also commencing a Scoping Study for a 500,000tpa throughput mining and beneficiation at Washihi.
The company is targeting 3.2Mt to 5.0Mt at 0.8-1.0% copper and 0.3-0.5g/t gold, with the major plus of geophysics indicating open mineralisation.
Across in Chile (70%), Alara is targeting copper-gold with extensive previous workings and walk up drill targets.
