Alara Resources finds more zinc at Khnaiguiyah, Saudi Arabia

Alara Resources (ASX: AUQ) has received further results from a recent reverse circulation and diamond drilling program at the Khnaiguiyah Zinc-Copper Project in Saudi Arabia.

To date, a total of 216 holes for about 28,047 metres have been completed, with contracts for 35,000 metres of drilling awarded.

Assays from 35 holes at Khnaiguiyah drilled in the northern extension of Zone 2 and 6 in the northern end of Zone 3 have been returned.

The results from Zone 2 identify an extension of zinc and copper mineralisation to the northeast.

Highlights from drilling in zone 2 include:

- 11 metres at 7.54% zinc from 126 metres, including 6.1 metres at 11.12% zinc;

- 13 metres at 4.62% zinc from 62 metres, including 3 metres at 10.6% zinc; and

- 15.15 metres at 6.79% zinc from 116.85 metres, including 8 metres at 10.16% zinc.

Zone 3 remains open on the flanks and to the south.

Currently, 1,415 drill samples are awaiting analysis. With all planned metallurgical test holes, mineralisation validation holes and geotechnical holes completed, drilling will now focus on the extension of mineralisation in zones 1 and 2.
