Trinidad-focused Range Resources Limited (LON:RRL) said production testing of its latest well will take place next month after oil was discovered.
A total of 40 feet of net pay was found at QUN 159 on the Morne Diablo field. The well was drilled down to 2,500 feet and tested the Lower Forest and Upper Cruse horizons.
In other news, gold miner Medusa Mining Ltd (ASX:MML) reported a 4% increase in revenues in the year just gone and swung to an after tax profit, as production was in line with guidance.
The group, which operates the Co-O gold mine in the Philippines, produced 108.578 ounces of the yellow metal at a head grade of 6.40 g/t - up from 98,359 ounces in the previous year to end June - at 5.61g/t.
Over at Patagonia Gold plc (LON:PGD), it is on track to start production at the open pit mine and heap leach processing facility at Cap-Oeste in Argentina in September.
The miner has received its environmental permit with all equipment and plant supplies now acquired.
Meanwhile, medical device specialist Sphere Medical Holding PLC (LON: SPHR) has broken into Belgium - with the first sale of its Proxima blood gas monitoring system to a teaching hospital there.
After the UK and Germany, Belgium is the third country in which Sphere has sold the devices through its direct sales force.

Over at Gfinity Plc (LON:GFIN), it has unveiled a new sponsorship deal with HP Inc which will see eSports teams armed with the hardware firm’s latest high performance laptops at an upcoming tournament.
The tournament, featuring the Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) game, will take place at EGX 2016 at the NEC in Birmingham next month (September 22-25).
Challenger Acquisitions (LON:CHAL) has started to talk to potential funders for a portfolio of London Eye-style giant observation wheels around the world.
The company has a 2% stake in the New York wheel, expected to open early in 2018, but is also waiting for the go-ahead for a wheel in Jarkarta, Indonesia, where subsidiary Starneth will design and oversee construction.
And finally, Satellite Solutions Worldwide Group plc (LON:SAT) said it was on track to hitting its full year targets after reporting a 680% increase to its global customer base since admission to AIM.
In its half-yearly report, the satellite technology provider said that its customer base now stood at 74,500, with around 550 new customers per month.
