Noram Ventures Inc. (CVE:NRM) has finished selecting five initial core drilling targets on its south block lithium claims in Nevada’s Clayton Valley, the company announced on Thursday.
Noram has kicked off its permit application process to carry out an initial drilling program by submitting its exploration and core drilling plan to relevant state and federal authorities for land and mineral management.
"We are very pleased to be advancing our Clayton Valley lithium project to the next stage of exploration after the very positive results from our phase-1 and phase-2 surface and subsurface sampling programs," said Noram President Mark Ireton.
The company’s drilling program will start at the Zeus and Hades claim groups. Noram previously reported surface and subsurface sample assay values there ranging from 206 ppm to a high of 1,670 ppm lithium and averaged 780 ppm lithium within the claystones.
The program will include drilling up to 55 shallow, 18-to-24-meter core drill holes.
Noram’s earlier investigations on the Zeus claims showed marker beds present in the lithium-rich sediments, enabling correlation of the beds between the planned drill holes, which will help Noram provide more certainty to upcoming lithium resources calculations.
Noram is a mining exploration company whose main projects include the lithium projects in Clayton Valley and the Jumbo graphite property in British Columbia.
