Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has expanded its 100 Gigabits-per-second (Gbps) high-speed fibre network to Tallahassee, the company announced on Wednesday.
“The expansion of Comcast’s high-speed network will serve as a strong contributor to the continued business and job growth we are seeing in our City, and overall the development of Tallahassee’s new economy,” said Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum.
Comcast has been delivering up to 10 Gbps ethernet service to businesses in Florida since 2011. Last year, it began offering a residential multi-gigabit broadband service for consumers in the Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Jacksonville areas.
Comcast shares traded flat, closing at $65.69.
