Shares in Vast Resources boom after it announces boardroom reshuffle

Current CFO Pierre Joubert will step down at the end of next month, while the firm hopes to add an experienced non-executive director to its board

Shares in Vast Resources PLC (LON:VAST) jumped more than 10% after the AIM-listed mining firm told investors that it is in advanced discussions to add an experienced non-executive director to its board.

Although the company didn’t reveal a name, it confirmed the potential director was a man “based in the City of London with significant mining experience”.

Should the appointment go ahead as planned, Graham Briggs would step down from his role as non-executive director and assume the position of chief executive of the firm’s Zimbabwe operations.

In other boardroom news, Vast’s current chief financial officer Pierre Joubert has told the company he will step down from his position after the annual general meeting on 30 September.

The firm has said that it will look to appoint a UK-based chief financial officer to replace him.

Shares were up 0.03p, or 12%, to 0.32p.
