Sound Energy PLC (LON:SOU) told investors the Tendrara 6 well in Morocco has been confirmed as a significant gas discovery.

The well was drilled to a depth of 2,665 metres and encountered 28 metres of net gas pay.

In other news, energy and water consultancy Utilitywise plc (LON:UTW) said in a challenging period, it had increased revenue and customers in the year to end July, but expects a weaker overall performance.

Revenues for the year are expected to be at least £82mln compared to £69.1mln for the 2015 year, it said.

Elsewhere, having hinted last month that US distribution deals are in the pipeline, CloudTag Inc (LON:CTAG) has unveiled an agreement with a big North American player.

The fitness and health-focused wearable devices developer has signed heads of terms on a one-year deal with a member of the CITIES Market Studios Group, one of the largest commercialisation and distribution operators in North America.

Over at WYG (LON:WYG), it is still picking up work funded by the  European Union with two contracts in Poland and Turkey worth a combined €12.6mln just awarded.

In Poland, the consultant has won a €6.6mln of new work to support the Polish government's initiative to help the unemployed.

Meanwhile, improving operations and finances at its New Liberty gold mine in Liberia are the focus for Aureus Mining Inc (LON:AUE, TSE:AUE), it said, as it updated on the second quarter, in which it produced 8,274 ounces of the precious metal.

The firm recently restarted processing at the mine after it was suspended, having made a number of modifications, including a larger gravity screen.

Over at Haydale Graphene Industries PLC (LON:HAYD) it has funded a new Professorial Chair at Swansea University's Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating (WCPC).

Professor Tim Claypole MBE, founder and director of WCPC, which is based within the College of Engineering at the University's Bay Campus, has taken up the role of the Chair in Advance Manufacture by Printing.

Mark Wellesley-Wood became non-exec director at KEFI Minerals plc (LON:KEFI) with effect from August 1, the firm said, as it confirmed its board reshuffle.

As reported last month, the 64-year-old mining and corporate finance veteran will also head up a new technical review committee.

And finally, shares in Blenheim Natural Resources plc (LON:BNR)  added over 7% in  early deals as it struck a deal to invest in a firm which holds a large prospective copper/gold property in Zambia.

Blenheim will pay £1 for an option to acquire, subject to certain conditions, 7.5% of the share capital of TAM Mining Ltd, which holds the exclusive rights to the West Lumba project.
