NexGen Energy hits two objectives with latest Arrow assays

Assays from seven holes drilled over winter at the Rook 1 target returned a best intercept of 40.5m at 12.69% U3O8 (uranium)

NexGen Energy (CVE:NXE) has continued its run of high uranium grades from in–fill drilling at the Arrow deposit in Athabasca, Saskatchewan.

Assays from seven holes drilled over winter at the Rook 1 target returned a best intercept of 40.5m at 12.69% U3O8 (uranium).

Overall, NexGen said the results confirmed extensive high grade uranium mineralisation in the higher grade A2 sub-zone, an area that has now been outlined by 23 holes.

NexGen added that the drilling had also confirmed a significant expansion of the newly discovered mineralized zone in the A1 shear.

This zone has been largely untested, but is already host to mineralization over a strike length of 360m.

Arrow currently covers an area of 870m by 280m with mineralization commencing from 100m down to 920m and open in most directions and at depth.

A summer program comprising 35,000m of drilling is underway with seven drill rigs active.

Garrett Ainsworth, Vice-President, Exploration and Development, said: “The drill results continue to be outstanding whether the sub-vertically dipping mineralization is drilled from the northwest to the southeast or vice versa.

“Additionally, the mineralized zone in the A1 shear is expanding rapidly since discovery hole AR-16-84c1."

Leigh Curyer, chief executive, added that the latest results had delivered two major objectives.

“Firstly, the scissor holes confirming the robust nature of the higher grade A2 sub-zone and secondly, expanding the area of mineralization within the A1 shear.”
