ReNeuron stroke results to be showcased in premier medical journal

We are delighted that the PISCES I clinical trial data has been published in such a prestigious peer reviewed medical journal as The Lancet - Chief executive Olav Hellebø.

ReNeuron Group Plc (LON:RENE) said the results from a clinical trial using its CTX stems to treat patients after stroke will be published in the prestigious medical journal, The Lancet.

The PISCES I study showed the therapy improved neurological and limb function for 11 people, which was maintained for two years.

Professor Keith Muir, of Glasgow University, is recruiting for the phase II assessment of the ReNeuron treatment with the first data expected in the fourth quarter.

If the read-out is encouraging then ReNeuron will apply to conduct a phase II/III clinical trial in 2017 that will provide an in-depth assessment of the efficacy of its CTX cells in stroke.

On the wider coverage of the study, ReNeuron chief executive Olav Hellebø said: "We are delighted that the PISCES I clinical trial data has been published in such a prestigious peer reviewed medical journal as The Lancet.

“The data from this study have provided us with the impetus to move our CTX cell therapy candidate for stroke disability into the ongoing PISCES II clinical trial.

“We look forward to reporting the three month follow up data from this phase II study later this year."
