Stellar inks joint-venture deal for the Baoulé kimberlite project in Guinea

RISERS

Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR.), up 14%. Investors made wary by a string of profit warnings reacted with relief after the jet engine maker confirmed it was on track to hit targets.

French Connection Group PLC (LON:FCCN), up 12%. Christos Angelides, independent non-executive director, purchased 25,000 shares in the company at a price of 37p per share, taking his stake to 100,000 shares, representing 0.1% of the company's issued ordinary share capital.

Eurasia Mining plc (LON:EUA), up 10%. Agreement has been reached with the Ekaterinburg Non-ferrous Metals Processing Plant for the processing of black sand concentrates containing a suite of precious metals from Eurasia’s West Kytlim mine.

FALLERS

Genel Energy PLC (LON:GENL), down 15%. The largest independent oil producer in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq saw half-year revenues more than halve, pushing it into the red.

Petrel Resources PLC (LON:PET), down 12%. The annual general meeting today must have been a downbeat affair.

Vast Resources PLC (LON:VAST), down 11%. After raising funds earlier this month, the company intends to repay the £325,000 principal plus interest due to Darwin Capital Ltd.

RISERS

Pires Investments PLC (LON:PIRI), up 21%. Half-year losses more than halved.

Tungsten Corporation PLC (LON:TUNG), up 20%. Disruptive Capital Investments has reduced its stake from 17.4% to 14.1%. Meanwhile, chief executive officer Richard Hurwitz has bought 50,000 shares at 43.5p a share.

Stellar Diamonds PLC (LON:STEL), up 18%. The company has signed binding heads of terms with Citigate Commodities Trading, a Dubai-based commodities group, to formulate joint ventures over the Baoulé kimberlite project in Guinea.

FALLERS

Craven House Capital PLC (LON:CRV), down 27%. Plans to join the Specialist Fund Segment of the LSE have been knocked back, so it will remain on AIM.

Herencia Resources PLC (LON:HER), down 19%. The company has formally completed the sale of its 70% stake in the Paguanta project in northern Chile.

Connemara Mining Company PLC (LON:CON), down 15%. The company’s annual general meeting today must have been a downbeat affair.

Octagonal Plc (LON:OCT), up 29%. Octagonal subsidiary Global Investment Strategy had a record quarter, with unaudited net profit of £635,445 in the three months to the end of June, up 18.9% year-on-year.

Mortgage Advice Bureau (Holdings) PLC (LON:MAB1), up 18%. The company shrugged off concerns about the possible effects of Brexit on the housing market as it reported a 38% increase in first half revenue.

Premier Farnell PLC (LON:PFL), up 17%. Exit Daetwyler AG, enter Avnet Inc as the preferred marriage partner for the up-for-sale electronic parts distributor.

FALLERS

Altona Energy PLC (LON:ANR), down 22%. Altona’s joint venture company, Arckaringa Coal Chemical, will have to obtain a petroleum exploration licence before it can commence test drilling down under.

Keras Resources PLC (LON:KRS), down 20%. The Aussie gold mining company said 63,346 tonnes were mined and toll processed at a provisional grade of 1.36 g/t Au for a total of 2,763 ounces Au in the three months to the end of June. It was described by Northland Partners as “a disappointing quarter” with the company making a loss on its initial production where it had previously indicated positive cash flow was expected.

International Personal Finance PLC (LON:IPF), down 18%. The half-year report said group profit was reduced “broadly in line with expectations”; when a company uses the term “broadly” it usually means results were a bit below expectations.
