Tungsten miner W Resources PLC (LON:WRES) kicked off its La Parrilla ambitions in Spain with a bang (literally) yesterday - opening up accessible ore to be mined.
The firm used explosives to open up the first 10 metre benches in what's called the Fast Track Mine part of the project. The firm will now complete grade control assays and mine planning and mine ore preparation, it said.
In other news, online merchandiser ATTRAQT Group plc (LON:ATQT) said it is continuing to see a strong uptake for its Freestyle merchandising platform in the UK and abroad.
Platform usage has continued to grow with a 32% increase in page impressions in the first half of 2016 versus the same period of 2015, while site search usage was up by 65% year-on-year.
Elsewhere, Savannah Petroleum PLC (LON:SAVP) revealed that the collection of 3D seismic data is about to start on its R3 licence area in south east Niger.
One of its subsidiaries has signed off for the work under a previous framework contract for seismic services with surveying specialist BGP Niger SARL.
Meanwhile, Quartix Holdings plc (LON:QTX), the supplier of vehicle tracking systems reported a stellar set of results for the half year ended June, with group revenues up 26% year-on-year and pre-tax profit up 23%.
Group revenues grew to £11.6mln, compared to £9.2mln last year, driven higher by a 47% boost to revenues coming in from its insurance services arm, as more and more drivers opt to install the black box-style tracking devices in their vehicles.
Over at Eurasia Mining plc (LON:EUA) it expects to produce the first concentrate from its West Kytlim alluvial platinum prospect in Russia in ‘a matter of weeks,’ according to its managing director.
“We anticipate that the final components of the washplant will be delivered and the washplant commissioned within two to three weeks,” said Christian Schaffalitzky.
Over at Eckoh PLC (LON:ECK), Adam Moloney, finance director of the secure payments specialist, is to move onto pastures new once a suitable successor has been found.
Eckoh said the appointment process has already begun and Moloney would remain with the group to ensure a smooth transition takes place.
ANGLE PLC (LON:AGL, OTCQX:ANPCY) said it will carry out a US study on its Parsortix device, which will be used to detect ovarian cancer.
The programme is being led by Dr Richard Moore at the University of Rochester Medical Center Wilmot Cancer Institute, in New York State.
And finally, shares in AIM- listed biomedical firm Netscientific PLC (LON:NSCI) ticked higher as it hailed the appointment of a renowned cardiologist as medical director at its California- based portfolio firm Wanda.
She is Dr Suzanne Steinbaum, a board-certified cardiologist and well-known national advocate for women's heart health, the group said.
