Proactive news highlights: Brave Bison, Green Dragon, Harvest Minerals, Mkango Resources and more...

Cello reports "noticeable impact" from Brexit, Tern reports a big jump in total assets, and Green Dragon has a production boost in China.

Mkango Resources Ltd (LON:MKA,CVE:MKA) has secured a two-year exclusive deal to acquire the worldwide licence for a rare earths processing technology.

The process, which produces high strength hydrochloric acid for industrial applications, was developed by researchers at the McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

In other news, Cello Group plc (LON:CLL) said there had been no noticeable impact from Brexit on the spending patterns of its customers as it confirmed it would deliver strong full-year results in line with expectations.

In an update covering the first half, the health marketing specialist confirmed that first half profits would be flat as a result of the previously-flagged. This is the result of the revenue contraction seen at the consumer consulting business within the Cello Health arm.

Elsewhere, the recent slump in the value of sterling is likely to prove beneficial to Acal Plc (LON:ACL), the leading supplier of customised industrial electronics.

With around four-fifths of the group’s revenue generated outside of the UK, the group said it expected the translation impact of sterling’s recent depreciation, if it is sustained, would more than offset any increased imports costs.

Over at IT investment firm Tern PLC (LON:TERN) saw a big jump in total assets in the latest half year, due mainly to its April acquisition of Device Authority Inc, it told investors, as it looks to further progress in the second half and swung to a pre-tax profit.

Total assets as at June 30 stood at £7.5mln compared to £1.2mln at the same date last year.

Meanwhile, Green Dragon Gas (LON:GDG) has reported a production boost on the wells its operates in China thanks to new compression equipment.

The China-based unconventional gas group said sales from its GSS field rose at their peak by 18% compared to the end of 2015 to 6mln cubic feet per day.

Nostra Terra (LON:NTOG) said the sale of its 20% stake in the Chisholm Trail Prospect for US$2.1mln is progressing in line with expectations. A non-refundable deposit of US$100,000 has been received and the sale remains on course to close no later than August 17 this year, it said.

Over at OptiBiotix Health plc (LON:OPTI), it plans to create a majority-owned joint-venture (JV) with the Healthy Weight Loss Company following a successful pilot launch of slimming products containing its Slimbiome ingredients.

The JV will be used as an “incubator” for the technology to develop other functional foods that help tackle obesity.

Harvest Minerals Limited (LON:HMI) announced that an independent indicated mineral resource estimate has been completed at its 100%-owned Arapua Fertilizer Project in Minas Gerais State, Brazil.

The group said an air core drilling programme revealed higher grade K2O and P2O5 zones, providing “more than enough” material for it to commence trial mining and develop the product over the coming months.

Victoria Oil & Gas plc (LON:VOG) has been repaid 40% of its exploration expenditure on the Logbaba gas field in Cameroon from revenues generated from gas sales.

Reimbursement of its spending was part a deal agreed with partner RSM two years ago and going forward revenues will now be split on a pro-rata 60/40 basis in Victoria's favour.

And finally, online video and marketing firm Brave Bison Group PLC (LON:BBSN) has significantly narrowed its underlying losses in the first half of the year, thanks in part to the currency volatility created by last month’s Brexit vote.

The company – formerly known as Rightster – says that because around 75% of its revenues are generated in other currencies, the weaker sterling has had a positive effect on its interim results.
