Sunrise identifies “significant” copper-gold mineralisation in Nevada

The results from two trenches at its gold-copper Garfield project in Nevada have yielded some promising results

Mineral explorer Sunrise Resources Plc (LON:SRES) has identified “significant” bedrock copper-gold mineralisation in trenching at its Garfield project in Nevada.

Two trenches were excavated last month, with the first returning an intersection of 22 metres at 0.33% copper.

This included a smaller intersection of 2m at 2.18% copper and 0.48 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold at 16m, as well as another of 2m grading 1.2 g/t of gold and 0.07% copper.

The firm said the second trench did not reach bedrock and was therefore not sampled.

“This is a very encouraging start to exploration at Garfield,” said executive chairman Patrick Cheetham.

“We have a permit to undertake further trenching and this will be scheduled to fit in with other work programmes in Nevada.”

Shares were up 0.02p, or 12.16%, to 0.21p.
