The chairman of Domino’s Pizza Group PLC (LON:DOM) Stephen Hemsley, along with his business partner Nigel Wray, chairman of Saracens rugby club, will float a new franchise business in the coming weeks.
Franchise Brands PLC, which the duo part-funded from selling slices in pizza firm Domino’s, will list on the AIM market during the third quarter of this year.
The company is hoping to raise up to £3.5mln valuing it at around £15mln, as it looks for more money to help it expand, predominantly through acquisitions.
“A flotation will allow us to capitalise on [the] strong foundation and further expand the group through the acquisition of complementary businesses,” said executive chairman Stephen Hemsley.
Franchise Brands is a multi-brand franchisor that operates predominantly in the UK and posted a profit before tax of £1.1mln in 2015, up more than 50% from 2013 (£0.7mln).
It’s currently made up of three brands: ChipsAway, a car repair specialist; OvenClean, a mobile oven cleaning company; and MyHome, a premium residential cleaning firm.
Helmsley and Wray have previously said that they would plough another £500,000 into Franchise Brands to demonstrate their confidence in the business.
