Sirius Minerals PLC (LON:SXX), up 2.25% to 22.75p as it said it had received government approval for the Harbour Facilities part of its polyhalite project in Yorkshire, UK.
Independent Oil & Gas (LON:IOG), up almost 5% to 19.5p as it provided an update on drilling of the appraisal well on the Skipper oil discovery which lies in Block 9/21a in licence P1609 in the Northern North Sea.
Mercom Capital (LON:MCC), up 4% to 3.25p as it is set to raise £225,000 from a placing of 9mln new shares to new shareholders.
FALLERS
BHP Billiton (LON:BLT), along with other big cap miners down today, fell over 4% to 910.30p after it posted an operational review to the year to end June.
Gusbourne PLC (LON:GUS), down over 13% to 47.5p after conducting a placing of £10mln five year deep discount bonds and share warrants.
Fairpoint Group plc (LON:FRP), down 4.26% to 112.50p as it issued a trading update for the six months to June 30 this year.

IronRidge Resources Ltd (LON:IRR), up over 25% to 6.75p as it uncovered high grade areas of the May Queen prospect, in Australia, through the analysis of historic drilling records.
MayAir Group plc (LON:MAYA), up 14% to 44.5p as it secured new contract wins with a total value of US10.6 million.
Firestone Diamonds plc (LON:FDI), up almost 11% to 35.5p as it updated on construction at the Liqhobong Diamond Mine as at the end of June 2016. Construction is 85% complete, ahead of a revised target of 81%.

Scancell Holdings Plc (LON:SCLP) down almost 4% to 18.75p as it was granted a further extension to its option to licence the commercial use of Ichor Medical Systems' proprietary TriGrid(R) electroporation delivery system with SCIB1.
Kennedy Ventures PLC (LON:KENV), down over 31% to 3.25p as it announced a placing to raise £2 million at a price of 3p per share. Proceeds to be used by African Tantalum, Kennedy Ventures' investee company, to upgrade and expand Aftan's current plant at Tantalite Valley Mine (TVM) and open up the Lepidolite orebody.
Anglo American plc (LONH:AAL), down almost 9% to 741.10p as it cut annual copper production targets for the next two years after severe weather hit its operations in Chile.

Clinigen PLC (LON:CLIN), up 11.47% to 680.5p as it reported a good performance across its divisions in its full year to end June.
W Resources PLC (LON:WRES), up 5.06% to 0.42p as said it would double the capacity at its La Parrilla tungsten mine in Spain.

Xtract Resources PLC (LON:XTR), down over 30% to 0.0675p as it revealed in a wide, ranging update, it had raised £1mln and agreed a lowered sale price on its Manica disposal.
Kibo Mining PLC (LON:KIBO) down over 4% to 5.375p as it said it had received expressions of interest from nearly all of the groups it contacted to handle the running of the power plant at its Mbeya thermal project in Tanzania.
Judges Scientific PLC (LON:JDG), down over 12% to 1,305p as it said for the third year in a row, order intake in the first quarter was weak.
