Christie Group warns on profits after Brexit blow to trading

Christie Group said that expected growth in the second half would not be sufficient to offset Brexit impact.

Shares in Christie Group plc (LON:CTG) dropped 9% after it issued a profit warning Monday morning.

In a trading statement, the business services group said operating profit for 2016 will be lower than expected after disappointing trading following the Brexit vote.

Within its agency arm, the group said a small number of transactions were lost following the UK’s vote to leave the EU at the end of June.

It said first half revenues would be “broadly in line” with last year, with growth anticipated in second half revenues.

However the group said that the expected growth would not be sufficient to achieve previously anticipated profits.

Shares were down 9% to 78p.
