Elon Musk issues Tesla teaser

"Working on Top Secret Tesla Masterplan, Part 2. Hoping to publish later this week."

In a “Tesla teaser”, Elon Musk, the boss of Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has tweeted he is working on part two of his “Top Secret Tesla masterplan”.

In need of some good press coverage to deflect attention away from a number of poorly received developments recently, including a fatal crash in May involving a Tesla car that was on “autopilot” and a US$2.5bn bid by Tesla last month for a struggling solar power company in which Musk is the major shareholder, Musk issued the tweet on 160th anniversary of the birth of Croation engineer and physicist, Nikola Tesla.

The format of the tweet mirrors a blog post made back in 2006 entitled: “The Secret Tesla Motors Master Plan (just between you and me)”.

That was the post in which the billionaire, who made his fortune through founding the online payments giant PayPal, unveiled the cars that became the Tesla Model S four-door family car and the Tesla 3 sports sedan.

The glamour stock’s shares have perked up this month, after taking a shellacking during the height of the bad news period, and currently trade at around US$217, up from their June low of US$193.15.
