EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) boosted passenger numbers in June despite the uncertainty caused by the EU referendum vote.
The Luton-based budget carrier said numbers rose 5.8% to 6,937,601 during the month on a 1.4 percentage point increase in its load factor - how full its aircraft were - to 94.1%.
Passenger numbers in the year to date rose 7.1% to 71,872,886 on a 0.3 percentage point rise in the load factor to 91.5%.
It blamed 852 cancellations for the month, compared to 487 in June 2015, for numbers not being higher.
Airlines have suffered disruption from air traffic control industrial action in France and Italy and from the terror attacks at Brussels airport.
EasyJet continues to lag behind rival Ryanair Holdings PLC (LON:RYA) in the passenger stakes, with the Irish no-frills airline chalking up an 11% rise to 10.6mln last month despite the strikes.
Both airlines have reacted negatively to the outcome of the UK's EU referendum after backing a vote to stay in the bloc.
EasyJet was said to be considering plans to move its head office out of the UK and Ryanair said it would not invest in Britain for at least two years.
