EKF Diagnostics to beat first half earnings expectations

EKF Diagnostics said that it was confident it would achieve the high end of its targeted range.

EKF Diagnostics Holdings PLC (LON:EKF) reported that sales and adjusted profits (EBITDA) were in excess of budget and ahead of market expectations.

In a trading update for the six months ended 30 June, the healthcare group said that it was confident it would achieve the high end of its targeted range of adjusted earnings, between £3.5mln and £4mln. Revenue for the first half is also expected to exceed £16.5mln.

The group said it was making progress with its restructuring programme and expects to see the benefits next year.

“Following a very difficult year in 2015, EKF is emerging as a focused point-of-care business which the board believes has good prospects for growth over the next two years.”

Addressing Brexit concerns the group said it did not anticipate any impact to sales to result from the UK leaving the EU.

“EKF sales into EU countries are derived entirely from offices within the EU and US, with no such sales made from the UK and therefore global sales are not expected to be impacted.”
