Aminex and Solo Oil boosted by Kiliwani North ramp up

The rate of 30mln cubic feet per day, which equates to 5,000 boepd, was achieved over the week and it following a ramp up since gas flows began in April.

Aminex plc (LON:AEX) and Solo Oil PLC (LON:SOLO) have revealed that gas production operations at the Kiliwani North field in Tanzania has reached 30mln cubic feet per day.

The rate, which equates to 5,000 barrels oil equivalent per day, was achieved over the week and it following a ramp up since gas flows began in April.

In a stock market statement Aminex, the operator, said the commissioning process is expected to be concluded with the testing of the well to determine optimal rates.

It is anticipated that the optimal rate will be 30mln cubic feet per day.

"The commissioning of the production well at Kiliwani North is proceeding as expected, with production reaching 30mmcf per day at the weekend,” said chief executive Jay Bhattacherjee.

“Commissioning of the well, pipeline and associated plant are going well and TPDC advises that the process will be concluded by the end of the month, after which we plan to test the well to determine optimal flow rates."

Aminex owns a 54.575% stake in the Kiliwani North asset, while Solo Oil has a 7.125% interest.
