Medical software group C4X Discovery Holdings plc (LON:C4XD) said its technology had highlighted new areas for potential drug development.
C4X said its genetic analysis software Taxonomy 3 had identified proteins whose function suggested that any resulting drug molecules could be used to treat rheumatoid arthritis.
The group said it was also using its software to analyse data that could point to new treatments for Parkinson's disease.
Chief executive Clive Dix said: "The rapid progress we have made in the past few months demonstrates the potential of the enlarged C4XD platform."
Taxonomy 3 analyses publicly available databases to identify previously unknown linkages between genes and diseases.
C4XD acquired Taxonomy 3 to allow it to discover potential candidates for screening with its existing technology Conformetrix to generate new drug molecules.
