BATM Advanced Communications Limited (LON:BVC) said its Telco Systems arm has completed a project that will enhance the connectivity between Kenya’s universities.
The upgrade to 10-gigabit Ethernet will allow the Kenya Education Network (KENET) “to provide a greater range of services to its members”, the company said.
Chief executive Zvi Marom added: “There is a clear trend to upgrading to 10GE to support growing traffic needs and deliver superior service, and we are confident that this project will be extended to provide connectivity to other education institutions in Kenya, such as primary and secondary schools.
“Building on our existing work in Kenya and Ethiopia, we expect to continue to see increasing demand and build our client base in this region."
