Regenerative medical technology specialist Tissue Regenix Group PLC (LON:TRX) has beefed up its board with the appointment of Professor Shervanthi Homer-Vanniasinkam.
The professor, a respected consultant vascular surgeon, joins as a non-executive director.
She was recently appointed to the First Chair of Engineering and Surgery at University College London, and has been acting as a clinical advisor to the group for a number of years, bringing to bear her extensive experience of medical research, development and innovation.
“With a strong commercially-focused board we feel it imperative to match this with clinical expertise as the group continues to grow and bring dCELL to the market,” said John Samuel, chairman of Tissue Regenix.
“The appointment of Shervanthi at this time highlights the continued momentum of Tissue Regenix as we expand further into the US marketplace and bring human tissue applications to Europe," he added.
Shares in the company rose 3.6% in early deals on the news.
