Risers & Fallers: Royal Mail,Union Jack Oil and Circle Oil and more

It is a clean sweep for energy stocks among the risers, while DDD plunges after announcing plans to delist from Aim.

Some notable share risers and fallers at 3.30pm

RISERS

Royal Mail Group PLC (LON:RMG) is up 3.88% to 511p and top dog on FTSE 100 after RBC Capital Markets upgraded the shares to 'sector perform' from 'underperform' and lifted the price target to 535p from 445p.

Union Jack Oil PLC (lON:UJO), up 9.68% to 0.17p as it reached agreement with Europa Oil & Gas Limited (LON:EOG) to acquire a 7.5% economic interest in PEDL143 located within the Weald Basin, located in southern England and containing the drill-ready Holmwood prospect.

4D Pharma (LON:DDDD) up 11.98% to 930p as it said its Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) treatment, Blautix has passed a phase I clinical trial.

“We have shown Blautix to be safe and well tolerated,” said chief executive Duncan Peyton.

FALLERS

Sports wear retailer Sports Direct (LON:SPD), down 3.85% to 354.80p as heavy weight Goldman downgraded the stock to a 'neutral' rating as it also cut its earnings per share (EPS) forecasts for this and next year.

Circle Oil (LON:COP), down 25.93% to 0.50p as it continues its decline aftre last week the Egypt and Morocco focused producer revealed it had received indicative offers, as part of an ongoing strategic review, but, considering its current US$77.5mln debt pile the company warned there could be little or no value left for shareholders.

Sovereign Mines (LON:SMA) down 21.54% to 0.26p after it posted final results, which were not well received.

RISERS

Mariana Resources Ltd (LON:MARL), up 10.4% to 3.45p as it revealed high grade encouraging drill results from Hot Maden project in Turkey.

Sareum Holdings Plc (LON:SAR), up 10.73% to 0.98p as the specialist cancer drug discovery and development company announced that that the Phase I clinical trials of CHK1 inhibitor drug candidate CCT245737 are anticipated to open at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton on May 31 this year.

Bacanora Minerals (LON:BCN), up 9.26% to 88.5p, as it pulled in heavyweight investor Blackrock as a substantial shareholder. Funds managed by Blackrock have put up £7.7mln through a placing of 9.75mln units at 79p each. The units include warrants that if exercised would take the amount raised to £10mln.

LOSERS

Strategic Minerals (LON:SML) down 12.86% to 0.31p as it posted final results.

Armadale Capital (LON:ACP), down 29.41% to 1.50p as the shares fall again after on Friday, it said it remained in talks over a finance package to build its Mpokoto gold mine in the DRC.

Aqua Bounty Technologies Inc (LON:ABTU) down over 24% to 30p in London today after surging on Friday after the Canadian authorities approved its genetically modified salmon for sale in Canada.

RISERS

Highlands Natural Resources Plc (LON:HNR), up 25%. The oil and gas company has signed a licence agreement with Calfrac Well Services, a leading pressure-pumping provider in the US, in relation to Diversion Technologies proprietary "DT Ultravert" re-fracking technology. Highlands owns a 75% stake in Diversion's current patent applications globally.

TomCo Energy Plc (LON:TOM), up 21%. A bit of a head-scratcher this one, in that Altima Global Special Situations Master Fund said its stake in TomCo has fallen below 3% to 2.76%.

Glenwick PLC (LON:GWIK), up 12%. No head-scratching required with this one; Booth & Lindsay Holdings has upped its stake in the oil & gas-focused investment company from less than 3% to 5.13%.

FALLERS

DDD Group PLC (LON:DDD), down 72%. The imaging and 3D solutions company released its final results this morning and accompanied it with the bombshell news that it would be seeking permission from its shareholders to delist from Aim.

Sovereign Mines of Africa PLC (LON:SMA), down 23%. The gold mining exploration company with properties in the Republic of Guinea has been unable to find a partner to contribute towards the cost of a definitive feasibility study for the Mandiana gold project, and so has decided to write down the value of its exploration assets by £1.29mln.

Aqua Bounty Technologies Inc (LON:ABTU), down 23%. The shares shot up on Friday morning after the Canadian authorities approved its genetically modified salmon for sale in Canada, but profit takers had moved in by the afternoon, and the stock has given back more of Friday's gains today.
