Proactive news highlights: Cello, Ergomed, ITM Power, KEFI Minerals, Metminco and more...

Rambler Metals and Mining commences a prefeasibility in Newfoundland, ITM Power hits the road and Union Jack expects more acquisitions.

Today, pharmaceutical services group Ergomed Plc (LON:ERGO) announced that Stifel Nicolaus Europe Limited and Numis Securities Limited have exercised the option as joint bookrunners in respect of 127,500 new shares in the group at 140p per share, equal to the issue price, or £178,500 in total.

In other news, Rambler Metals and Mining PLC (LON:RMM) has begun a prefeasibility study to determine the economic viability of re-opening the past producing Hammerdown gold mine in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Work is expected to start immediately and be completed by end of the final quarter 2016.

Over at Cello Group plc (LON:CLL), it settled its dispute with the tax office over retrospective VAT payable by its charity business.

The dispute with the HMRC relates to how VAT should be charged on work for charities.

Elsewhere, clean energy company ITM Power (LON:ITM) is launching a series of hydrogen fleet user workshops and Ride & Drive events.

The four day road tour is part of a £2mln Fleet Support Scheme to promote low emission vehicles across the UK.

Over at KEFI Minerals plc (LON:KEFI), it has received formal confirmation that the Ethiopian government will plough US$20mln into the company’s Tulu Kapi gold mine in the country.

For that the authorities will receive a 20% stake, which, added to the current carried investment, takes their holding to a quarter of the project.

Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC’s (LON:CMCL) 49% gold mine subsidiary has sold US$3.2mln worth of Zimbabwe government bonds.

The bills were issued to the Blanket Mine in 2015 and replaced the Special Tradeable Gold Bonds issued in 2009. The bonds were issued as part consideration for gold sales that were made by Blanket in 2008.

Meanwhile, Metminco (LON:MNC) has appointed consultant SRK to provide a resource statement, an underground mine design and review historical data from the Miraflores mine at Quinchia in Colombia.

“It will form the basis for an updated underground only mine plan to feasibility study level," said Bill Howe, Metminco’s managing director.

Magnolia Petroleum PLC (LON:MAGP) has appointed Leonard Wallace, a highly experienced oil and gas engineer and a 50-year veteran of the industry, as its new non-executive director.

“We are delighted to welcome Leonard to the board,” said Rita Whittington, Magnolia Petroleum chief operating officer.

And finally, Union Jack Oil PLC (LON:UJO) expects more acquisitions to further bolster its portfolio of onshore UK oil and gas assets.

Underpinning its plans is a stake in the Wressle field, where production is set to begin in the second half of 2016.
