Risers & Fallers: Ferrum Crescent, Tern, Jubilee Platinum,Nostra Terra, Hunting, Avocet Mining

Both Nostra Terra and Avocet intend capital reorganisation to reduce the nominal value of their shares, paving the way for fund raisings

Below are some of the main news-driven share price changes on Thursday.

RISERS

Ferrum Crescent Limited (LON:FCR), up 29%. The company issued a statement saying it knew of no reason for the sharp increase in its share price.

Tern PLC (LON:TERN), up 21%. Hargreaves Lansdown's percentage of the voting rights at technology-focused investment company has been revealed at 9.8% after a conversion of loan notes.

Jubilee Platinum PLC (LON:JLP), up 17%. The sustainable chrome plant feed rate capacity at the chrome recovery plant at the Dilokong chrome mine has reached 65 tons per hour (tph) exceeding the 50 tph design capacity by 30%.

LOSERS

Nostra Terra Oil & Gas Company (LON:NTOG) down 23%.The company has proposed a capital reorganisation to reduce the nominal price of its shares, which is preventing the company from raising fresh capital at or around the current share price.

Hunting Plc (LON:HTG), down 15%. The international energy services group has been loss-making so far this year and the full-year outcome is uncertain, the company said.

Avocet Mining PLC (LON:AVM), down 13%. Stop me if you have heard this before but the company has proposed a capital reorganisation to reduce the nominal price of its shares, which is preventing the company from raising fresh capital at or around the current share price.

RISERS

African Potash Limited (LON:AFPO), up 41%. Yesterday we were wondering why the shares had pulled out of their slump; today, we know they are rising because the exploration licence for the Lac Dinga project has been renewed.

ZincOx Resources PLC (LON:ZOX), up 24%. Results for 2015 were hit hard by write-downs but investors were encouraged by plans for what is now a cash shell company to relaunch using its experience in zinc recovery processes.

GTS Chemical Holdings PLC (LON:GTS), up 19%. China's largest producer of ammonium sulphite has received a certificate of registration from the American Petroleum Institute for conformance with the API Specification Q1.

FALLERS

Candover Investments PLC (LON:CDI), down 7.1%. The company has decided to pay down debt rather than pay out dividends to shareholders at present.

LGO Energy PLC (LON:LGO), down 5.6%. Group production for the first quarter of 2016 averaged 574 barrels of oil per day, and efforts to raise output in Trinidad continue to see success.

Tri-Star Resources PLC (LON:TSTR), down 5.3%. The AGM statement looked anodyne enough, with the chairman, Mark Wellesley-Wood saying the company remains confident of achieving its objectives for 2016 against a backdrop of recovering antimony prices, but the share price backtracked.

RISERS

SuperGroup PLC (LON:SGP), up 11%. The maker of clothes for people of a certain age who have yet to realise they are no longer teenagers cheered the market with its year-end trading update. Like-for-like sales in the fourth quarter were up 15.4% year-on-year.

CLS Holdings PLC (LON:CLI), up 11%. The investment property company has decided to do something about the share price's discount to net asset value per share by instigating a share buy-back programme.

Alecto Minerals PLC (LON:ALO), up 9.5%. The Africa-focused gold and base metal exploration and development company has entered into an option and joint venture agreement with Cora Gold Limited for the exploration and development of the group's 250 km Karan gold project.

FALLERS

Westminster Group PLC (LON:WSG), down 18%. A decidedly mixed statement from the security services solutions provider. The airport security business has bounced back strongly from the Ebola crisis, but the technology division has been hit by some project delays.

Eurasia Mining PLC (LON:EUA), down 13%. The shares slipped to 0.68p after the company raised £500,000 by placing shares at 0.55p a pop.

Titon Holdings PLC (LON:TON), down 10%. The door and window specialist's interims were, in its own words, “disappointing” as it reported a small fall in profit before tax to £735,000 from £792,000 the year before.
