Sphere Medical is on track to meet its goals this year, a further boost for superbug antibiotic and Petropavlovsk announces an acquisition and joint venture.

Mexico-focused Mining Group Arian Silver Corporation (LON:AGQ) raised £700,000 in a placing to further advance exploration in Zacatecas state.

It issued 70mln units of 1p each via its broker Beaufort Securities, a discount to yesterday's closing price of 1.175p.

In other news, image technology group Kromek (LON:KMK) was awarded a huge contract from an existing customer to provide bone density scanning detectors to detect osteoporosis.

The contract is worth US$12.6mln (£8.7mln) more than last year’s total sales, spread over five years.

Over at Falcon Oil & Gas Ltd (LON:FOG) investors can look forward to another exciting year of exploration activity, according to chief executive Philip O’Quigley.

His comments come in a detailed update on the group’s Australian shale discovery, highlighting that follow on analysis of the well drilled in 2015 has confirmed the positive early indications.

Blood monitoring medical device maker Sphere Medical Holding PLC (LON:SPHR) is on track to meet its 2016 goals, which include launching Proxima 4 - the latest version of the device - in Europe.

Over at Summit Therapeutics PLC (NASDAQ:SMMT, LON:SUMM) shares nudged higher in London as its new antibiotic for a hospital superbug got a further boost.

The US patent and trademark office have granted a "composition of matter" patent.

It gives a period of exclusivity for ridinilazole in the United States until at least December 1, 2029, with the possibility of being extended.

Rame Energy (LON:RAME) intends to raise £2.8mln through a private placing at a substantial premium to yesterday’s market price.

The Chile-focused wind power group said it will issue shares at 9p along with warrants exercisable for five years at 18p.

A US broker has been appointed to find investors.

And finally, Russia-focused gold miner Petropavlovsk PLC (LON:POG) announced an acquisition and a joint venture.

The Aim-listed miner entered into an agreement with Russia's Alliance Mining Group and Lexor Group to acquire Amur Zoloto, an established gold company with production and development assets in the Khabarovsk region in Russia.
