Diversified mineral development company Bushveld Minerals Limited (LON:BMN) is set to move into vanadium production in South Africa through a reverse takeover.
It was granted exclusive rights for a six-week period to negotiate the acquisition of Evraz Group's 78.8% economic interest in Strategic Minerals Corporation a holding company that owns the producing Vametco vanadium mine and plant in South Africa.
Elsewhere, explorer SolGold PLC (LON:SOLG) updated on progress at two holes at its Cascabel prospect in Ecuador, one of which continues to hit significant copper, which is increasing at depth.
The Hole 15R2 was at 1,401 metres, while hole 17 is at 519.4m and has so far hit more than 400m of porphyry style copper sulphide mineralisation and has a planned depth of 1800m.
In other news, Ariana Resources PLC (LON:AAU) is looking at an extra two years on the mine life at Kiziltepe after a resource and model upgrade at the mine in Turkey.
The overall resource is now 195,200 oz gold and 3.15mln oz of silver after an increase of 44,500 oz of gold and 886,000 oz silver.
Meanwhile, Sirius Minerals PLC (LON:SXX) chairman Russell Scrimshaw told investors the company is prioritising debt financing for the funding of the North Yorkshire polyhalite project.
“We remain focussed on a range of funding options and continue to believe that the overall funding requirement can be delivered through a number of mechanisms,” added Scrimshaw.
Over at Jersey Oil & Gas PLC (LON:JOG) it remained confident in its ability to close in on a number of North Sea acquisition targets during 2016.
It highlighted in this morning’s financial results statement that an active acquisition and divestiture market exists in the UK North Sea region.
Over at the Middle East-focused hotel developer Action Hotels PLC (LON:AHCG), it appointed a new finance director to the board.
Andrew Lindley will join the senior management team on 1 June, taking over from Katie Shelton who has been acting as interim CFO.
Diagnostics group Akers Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ:AKER LON:AKR) re-jigged its board with Thomas Knox to become sole chairman while current executive chairman and founder Ray Akers takes up a scientific role as chief scientific director. He will spearhead the research behind its product pipeline.
In renewables sector, Rame Energy PLC (LON:RAME) agreed a US$4mln development loan with InterEnergy Holdings to develop 11 projects in Chile.
Rame wants to get all 11 of its Latin American and Caribbean projects to be funded by the loan and that have 210Mw of capacity to 'ready to build status' by the end of 2017.
Palm oil producer DekelOil Public Ltd (LON:DKL) made good progress in refinancing a €6.9mln senior debt facility with the West African Development Bank.
The debt has annual interest of 10.5% and was used to build the group's 60t/hr extraction mill in the Ivory Coast.
And finally, investor-led crowd-funding platform SyndicateRoom gave its members the opportunity to invest in a disruptive socially-led business.
