Proactive news highlights: 88 Energy Ltd, Andes Energia, Oracle Coalfields, mporium and more

88Energy funding inundated with demand, African Potash shares slump and Andes Energia confirms production volumes.

Mobile commerce specialist mporium Group PLC (LON:MPM) announced director and senior management dealings, including the purchase of 623,000 shares by chief executive Barry Moat. Which brings his stake in the group to 1.82%.

In other news, 88 Energy Ltd’s (LON:88E) new equity funding appears to have been inundated with demand, as the company has this morning revealed it raised significantly more than expected.

The company had set out to raise between A$10mln and A$15mln, but it had oversubscriptions amounting to A$20mln.

Pakistan-focused energy and mining group Oracle Coalfields PLC (LON:ORCP) today named director Anthony Scutt as interim chairman in place of William Loader whose term as director was not extended at the AGM on April 20.

Elsewhere, Eurasia Mining PLC (LON:EUA) unveiled positive drill results from its Monchetundra project in the far northwest of Russia, which should lead to defining a reserve estimate.

Core drilling and shallow sampling kicked off last summer and focused on the West Nittis and Loipishnune areas, prospective for high grade platinum group metals.

Andes Energia PLC (LON:AEN) confirmed group production volumes for the month of February.

The company told investors output for the month amounted to 3,538 barrels per day, up from 3,487 bpd in January.

Meanwhile, Indonesia-focused Asiamet Resources Limited (LON:ARS, CVE:ARS) raised £1.5mln via an oversubscribed private placing as it advances its Beruang Kanan Main (BKM) copper project.

It will sell around 48.4mln shares at 3.1p each - around a 5% discount to yesterday's close of 3.275p.

Over at Providence Resources Plc (LON:PVR) its Schlumberger’s state-of-the-art subsurface analytics have helped outline some 5bn barrels of prospective resources in Ireland’s Atlantic Margin.

Whilst the group’s financial situation appears uncertain, the latest technical update reflects the inherent long term potential within the Providence portfolio.

Patagonia Gold (LON:PGD) raised US$10mln though a placing to start work on a new gold mine at Cap-Oeste in Argentina.

Major shareholder and chairman Carlos Miguens is putting up half of the money through a subscription at 1.5p per share, while the rest will come from an open offer at the same price that Miguens will underwrite.

Over at Fertiliser trader African Potash Limited (LON:AFPO), shares slumped in early deals as it revealed a lack of rain in southern Africa had affected certain deals.

But the firm said it was confident the fundamentals of the business remained attractive.

And finally, ServicePower PLC (LON:SVR)nappointed Simon Evans as its new chief financial officer from the start of next month.

The field operative software group said Evans had more than 20 years' experience in the technology sector including spells at Colt Telecom, Zen Internet, and most recently B2B software group Purple Wifi.
