NuLegacy Gold poised to drill more than just the tip of Iceberg

The Iceberg is a classic Carlin-type oxidized gold deposit extending along a 3,000-metre structural corridor of gold mineralization

NuLegacy Gold Corp (CVE:NUG) has decided on a drilling contractor for its 2016 drilling program on the Iceberg deposit in Nevada.

The 10,000 metre drilling contract has been awarded to Major Drilling of Salt Lake City, Utah.

The drilling program will kick off in May, and the bulk of the drilling will focus on expanding the extent of the high-grade zones in the Iceberg deposit, with a substantial portion directed towards exploring other prospective Carlin-type gold systems – sediment-hosted disseminated gold deposits - on the property, principally the Avocado, VIO and Jasperoid Basin gold anomalies.

Carlin-type gold deposits account for around 9% of global gold production and are mostly found in Nevada.

The deposits are typically low grade and high tonnage.

The Iceberg is classic Carlin-type oxidized gold deposit extending along a 3,000-metre structural corridor of gold mineralization with an established exploration target of 90-110 million tonnes of 0.9 to 1.1 grams of gold per tonne, NuLegacy said.

Located in the Cortez gold-trend of Nevada, the Iceberg is on trend with three of Barrick Gold's multi-million ounce gold deposits that are amongst its largest, lowest cost and politically safest mines in the world, the company added.

In all, NuLegacy expects to drill around 40 holes and complete the drilling by late August or early September.
