Tekcapital PLC (LON:TEK) created a new subsidiary that has licence deals for three products made by med-tech giant Stryker.
The new business is called Belluscura and now holds the rights to Slyde, an evacuation sled; Passport, a cutting device used in keyhole surgery; and Snap II, which monitors consciousness during general anaesthesia.
In other news, an acquisitive Keywords Studios PLC (LON:KWS) unveiled its largest deal to date with the purchase of the Synthesis Group of companies, which positions the consolidated group as the market leader for localisation, audio and localisation testing services.
Over in commodities, Azerbaijan-focused miner Anglo Asian Mining PLC (LON:AAZ) saw a slow-down in gold production due to weather and geology in the first quarter but an uplift in copper and gold output.
It was the first full quarter of production from the small flotation plant installed at the end of last year, and the firm is looking forward to ramping up output from this facility in the months ahead.
Whilst Range Resources (LON:RRL) shares jumped nearly 30% in early deals after it told investors that multiple hydrocarbon zones have been identified the in newly drilled MD 250 well, onshore Trinidad. The AIM quoted oil junior described it as 'highly encouraging'.
Shares in Alecto Minerals PLC (LON:ALO) also surged after it reached another milestone in Zambia - revealing a positive feasibility study on its Matala gold project and a financing agreement to build and develop the site.
The firm said it significantly de-risks the property and comes only five months after buying the mine.
Galileo Resources PLC (LON:GLR) said the potential for the Concordia copper deposit has been franked by a re-modelling of the Whyte West deposit.
Re-modelling of two other prospects at Concordia sent Galileo’s share price sharply higher when released at the end of March.
Meanwhile in oil, Lekoil Ltd (LON:LEK) unveiled successful well testing results from the Otakikpo field, onshore Nigeria, which have measured aggregate oil flows of around 12,000 barrels per day.
It indicates that Otakikpo’s production volumes can significantly exceed the 6,000 barrels per day forecast put forward previously.
Over at Premier Oil PLC (LON:PMO), shares moved higher as it confirmed that the Solan field, in the North Sea, safely achieved ‘first oil’ production.
Production commenced yesterday and the first well flowed naturally at a deliberately restricted initial rate. During this initial period the well is expected to remain ‘free flowing’ for a short time before pumping begins.
And finally, Breedon Aggregates Ltd (LON:BREE) announced that new group chief executive Pat Ward, purchased around £106,000 in shares.
Ward, who was appointed to the board last month after years in the industry, acquired 150,000 ordinary shares at price of 70.5p. He now holds 0.01% of the total voting rights in the company.
