Tekcapital: Stryker deal kicks off countdown to AIM listing for new unit

The mission of Tek's new business is to provide “premium medical products at affordable prices”.

Tekcapital PLC (LON:TEK) has created a new subsidiary that has licence deals for three products made by med-tech giant Stryker.

The new Tek business is called Belluscura and now holds the rights to Slyde, an evacuation sled; Passport, a cutting device used in keyhole surgery; and Snap II, which monitors consciousness during general anaesthesia.

Its mission, it says, is to provide “premium medical products at affordable prices”.

The plan is to sell the devices in the US and Europe, employing its own manufacturer to make the products.

It will look to bring in further devices to the portfolio and is exploring the potential of a listing on AIM separate to Tek (which is already on the junior market).

This would provide the funds to bankroll expansion plans.

Tek’s chairman Cliff Gross said: "We are very pleased to announce the establishment of Belluscura and the acquisition of its first three medical devices.

“Belluscura's mission is to provide premium, proprietary medical devices at affordable prices."
