Natural pesticides group TyraTech Inc (LON:TYR, LON:TYRU) named 60-year-old industry veteran José Geraldo Ramalho Barella as its new chairman with immediate effect.
Currently in the role, Alan Reade will step down but remain on the board as a director, the group said.
In other news, Telit Communications PLC (LON:TCM), the industrial Internet of Things specialist, has acquired some intellectual property and related assets from Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ:MIFI).
The initial cash purchase price is $11mln plus a conditional earn-out clause that Telit expects will not be a material amount.
Elsewhere, Iofina PLC (LON:IOF), which extracts iodine from waste brine water from oil production in the US, has restated production guidance after a tough start to the year.
Output for the first quarter was slightly up on the same period in 2015. But Iofina has closed a plant which means on a like-for-like basis the performance was solidly ahead of last year.
Shares in oil and gas sector focused materials and chemicals specialist Graphene Nanochem PLC (LON:GRPH) shot up as it unveiled plans to rationalise the business and restructure its short term debt amid a challenging industry background.
The nano tech firm said it would place the group on a stronger footing as it also revealed plans to sell its non-core assets.
Over at Metal Tiger plc (LON:MTR), it moved a step closer to finalising its investment in the Boh Yai and Song Toh silver-lead mines in Thailand.
The natural resources investor has paid $80,000 in cash plus $50,000 in Metal Tiger shares to the mine owners in order to have a clear shot for three months at performing due diligence on the mines and working on a formal joint venture agreement.
Meanwhile, Utilitywise plc (LON:UTW) has been named a partner by the computing giant Dell. The relationship could ultimately enable it to introduce intelligent devices that help a wider range of customers save money on their gas, electricity and water bills.
Shares in CloudTag (LON:CTAG:LN), the personal health and fitness monitoring technology firm, advanced in early deals today after it placed shares at a premium raising £171,430 with a new investor through the issue of 5.36mln shares.
And finally, Kibo Mining PLC (LON:KIBO), the group significantly upgraded the status of the resources at its Mbeya coal-fired power development in Tanzania.
A drilling programme indicated the coal quality were also within the specifications for the power plant.
