Stocks set to bounce back, following Europe's lead

European markets are higher and US stocks are set to folow their lead

An indifferent week for US markets looks like ending on a high note, clawing back some of yesterday's heavy losses.

The S&P 500 is expected to open around 10 points above last night's close of 2,042 while the Dow Jones average is expected to open its account somewhere around 17,620, versus last night's close of 17,542.

Speculators are keeping a close eye on waning internet portal operator Yahoo! (NASDAQ:YHOO), where telecoms firm Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL), owner of Google, are both said to be mulling a bid for the company.
