Solo Oil (LON:SOLO) told investors it has raised £800,000 through the issue of new shares, and the cash will support investments in Tanzania.
Specifically, the junior oil and gas company said the money would allow it to bring forward an increase in interest in the now producing Kiliwani North gas field.
In other news, Haydale Graphene Industries PLC (LON:HAYD) is to work with Dowton Electronic Materials on the development and marketing of a Haydale-branded graphene-enhanced screen printable ink.
The ink will be aimed initially at the biomedical market. Production quantities for commercial applications are anticipated in 2016 with leads already under evaluation.
Elsewhere, the India-focused renewables specialist Mytrah Energy Limited (LON:MYT) says it will hit its medium-term target of 1,000 megawatts (MW) of output this year after landing US$175mln of financing.
The Asian Development Bank credit facility will fund the growth of the portfolio from around 617MW currently as Mytrah builds its wind and solar capacity.
Over at Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC (LON:CMCL), it produced 10,822 ounces of gold from its Blanket mine in southern Zimbabwe during the quarter to 31st March. That figure was up by eight% on the gold produced in the corresponding period during 2015, but down 6%
Meanwhile things were looking up for Westminster Group PLC (LON:WSG), the supplier of managed services and security solutions, after passenger numbers at its West Africa airport operations recovered strongly.
As might be expected, passenger numbers dropped off at the height of the Ebola crisis and took a while to recover, but Westminster said the first three months of 2016 saw passenger numbers and revenues hit levels not seen since August 2014.
Over at Alliance Pharma (LON:APH), the board reported a robust final statement after a “transformational” year for the pharmaceuticals group.
For the year ended 31 December 2015, revenue was up 11% to £48.3mln, compared to £43.5mln the previous year, which included £0.8mln from its recent acquisition of the Sinclair Healthcare Products Business.
Life sciences group OptiBiotix (LON:OPTI) has revealed more detail from last year's positive clinical study for its cholesterol reducing capsules.
The study of 50 volunteers was conducted over 12 weeks and was designed to test the safety and effectiveness of OptiBiotix's lactobacillus plantarum strain in mildly hypercholesterolæmic adults.
And finally, Victoria Oil & Gas (LON:VOG) told investors it has secured government approval for its proposed acquisition of a 75% stake in the Matanda block, in Cameroon, from Glencore (LON:GLEN).
In February, VOG announced the proposed deal to acquire the large, 1,235 square kilometre, asset from Glencore.
