Westminster Group PLC (LON:WSG) said on Wednesday its flagship ferry, the Sierra Queen, in Sierra Leone had encountered more issues.
The passenger vessel was expected to start operations this month but timings may be impacted, the group said.
The ferry sustained some minor damage from an uncharted submerged obstacle while moving between terminals yesterday (Tuesday).
"It is believed that the damage is limited and any necessary repairs will be undertaken as soon as possible. The submerged obstacle is being investigated and will be removed or buoyed," the AIM group told investors in a brief regulatory statement.
The Sierra Queen underwent repairs to the propellor last year but has performed well in sea trials that involved various trial crossings and manoeuvres.
