Pan African Resources PLC (LON:PAF) assumed effective control of the Uitkomst Colliery after it paid a revised consideration of R176mln (£8.3mln).
Total net purchase consideration amounts to around R150mln compared to R200mln announced previously.

Cyber-defence specialist Corero Network Security PLC (LON:CNS) bagged the first significant order for its SmartWall Threat Defense System from a European hosting provider.
The order, worth more than $200,000, follows a successful proof of concept trial during which Corero was able to demonstrate the effectiveness of automatic, in-line, real-time distributed denial of service protection.
And finally, coloured gems specialist Gemfields PLC (LON:GEM) celebrated a new “per carat” record price for its recent auction in Lusaka, Zambia.
The auction of predominantly higher quality rough emeralds raked in $33.1mln, at an average of $70.68 per carat.
