Proactive news summary: Avation PLC, Eckoh PLC, Versarien PLC and more

Avation delivers a new Airbus to Thomas Cook, Greka Drilling secures a loan and Eckoh wins a five-year deal with US clinical care provider.

Commercial aircraft lessor Avation PLC (LON:AVAP) delivered the second of a series of new Airbus A321-200 aircraft to Thomas Cook Airlines Limited.

The aircraft was delivered at the Airbus manufacturing facility in Hamburg, Germany.

Elsewhere, experienced financier Peter Housden has joined the board of facial recognition and eye-tracking technology company Seeing Machines PLC (LON:SEE) as a non-executive director.

He replaced Michael Roberts, who is stepping down from the board and giving up the role of chairman of the Risk, Audit & Finance Committee. Housden will take on the role.

In other news, Versarien PLC(LON:VRS) has teamed up with E3D Online Ltd, a 3D printing specialist, to carry out initial trials using graphene. The advanced materials group told investors that graphene would be incorporated into the 3D printing process as part of the new trials.

Over at Greka Drilling Limited (LON:GDL) investors were told the Chinese oil and gas drilling specialist secured a US$5mln loan to support working capital.

The group borrowed the money from Guaranty Finance Investors LLC. The loan carries interest at 7% per year and matures on March 31 2019.

Meanwhile, Mariana Resources Ltd (LON:MARL) announced that drilling is shortly to commence at its Doña Ines gold-silver prospect and the adjacent Exploradora East copper projects in northern Chile.

The drilling will start in April and will be financed by Mariana’s joint venture partner on the projects, Asset Chile Exploración Minera Fondo, otherwise known as Asset.

Over at ITM Power PLC (LON:ITM), the energy storage and clean fuel company, it sold a 1 megawatt electrolyser system with some additional equipment to German green power firm ZEAG Energie for an undisclosed sum.

ITM expects to deliver the power-to-gas energy storage system to the customer in the first quarter of next year along with a compressor and apparatus to fill tube trailers.

Secure payment systems supplier Eckoh PLC (LON:ECK) has won a five-year deal with US paediatric clinical care provider Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA).

Eckoh will supply CHOA with a version of its CallGuard product which uses its recently UK-patented tokenisation technology, which was launched in May last year.

And finally, minerals sands miner Sierra Rutile Ltd (LON:SRX) is trading in line with expectations, with first quarter production expected to be seasonally lower quarter-on-quarter.

Sierra said first quarter rutile production is expected to be about 26,000 tonnes, down by a third on the previous quarter but up 11% year-on-year.
