Eckoh secures US child healthcare deal

Eckoh will supply Children's Healthcare of Atlanta with a version of its CallGuard product

Secure payment systems supplier Eckoh plc (LON:ECK) has won a five-year deal with US paediatric clinical care provider Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA).

Eckoh will supply CHOA with a version of its CallGuard product which uses its recently UK-patented tokenisation technology, which was launched in May last year.

It stops card data entering the hospital's infrastructure in line with industry standards and cuts costs by avoiding the need to change existing IT applications, payment vendors or relationships.

CallGuard also prevents theft and staff access to card data.

CHOA is one of the largest paediatric health care providers in the US, with three hospitals and 27 community sites.

Its call centre manages over eight million calls per year and CallGuard will enable it to take payments completely securely.

Eckoh said its increasingly national US presence, boosted by the acquisition of PSS Help in November, played an important role in securing the deal and will help to support it going forward.

Chief executive Nik Philpot said CHOA was the fourth customer within the last nine months to sign up for its most recently patented product and the first to benefit from the on-the-ground presence of its enlarged team following the PSS Help deal.

"As regulations and laws tighten around the transmission of personal customer data, we anticipate growing international demand," he said.

Shares in Eckoh rose 1.25p, or 2.8%, to 46.25p in early London trading.
